Real Madrid Has My Loyalty for Life – Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he will assume the role of head coach of Brazil’s national football team on May 26, shortly after the conclusion of Real Madrid’s current campaign.

The Italian manager made the announcement on Tuesday, reflecting on his time with the Spanish giants while also praising Bayer Leverkusen coach and former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.

“Xabi is already an excellent coach,” Ancelotti said. “He doesn’t need advice from me—he has all the qualities to reach the very top in management.”

Ancelotti, who returned to Madrid in 2021 for a second spell, expressed deep appreciation for his time at the club and the support he received throughout.

“I’ll begin my journey with Brazil on May 26,” he confirmed. “Like everything in life, there comes a time to move on. I’ve truly enjoyed every moment here at Real Madrid.”

He added, “This club will always be in my heart. I never imagined I’d spend six years here as manager. I’m deeply thankful to the club, the players, and the fans.”

At 65, Ancelotti will become the first foreign head coach to lead Brazil’s men’s national team. His debut competitive match is scheduled for June 6 against Ecuador as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Ancelotti’s appointment comes in the wake of Dorival Junior’s dismissal in March, ending a 14-month stint in charge of the five-time world champions.
