Fury Teases Comeback Amid Rumours of Joshua Showdown

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has hinted at a possible return to boxing and a highly anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua, following a short training clip he posted on social media.

The 36-year-old, known as the ‘Gypsy King,’ shared a 12-second video from the gym where he appeared alongside his American trainer SugarHill Steward. The video, which shows Fury resuming workouts, was accompanied by a cryptic message implying an imminent announcement.

Fury, who retired from boxing in January after a second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December, has frequently reversed his retirement decisions in the past. This pattern has left many in the boxing world doubtful about the permanence of his exit from the sport.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has previously voiced scepticism about Fury’s retirement, suggesting it may be a strategic move to boost the commercial value of a potential fight with Joshua.

Meanwhile, Joshua has recently resumed training after recovering from surgery related to an injury sustained during his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last September. The British-Nigerian boxer completed his rehabilitation during a visit to Nigeria and expressed appreciation for the hospitality he received there before departing to resume preparations for his next bout.

Speculation has been mounting around a possible September bout between Fury and Joshua. Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia’s boxing authorities, particularly Turki Alalshikh, are actively working to organize the long-awaited match, which could generate over £170 million in revenue from broadcasting, sponsorships, ticket sales, and merchandise.

Joshua’s promoter has recently acknowledged that the fighter may be entering the final phase of his professional career, with just one to three fights likely remaining.
