Bauchi Poly Gains NBTE Accreditation for Additional Programmes
Accreditation has been granted for eight new academic programmes at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, following approval by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). The development marks a significant milestone in the institution’s academic expansion and affirms its 100 per cent accreditation status.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the institution’s Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Rabi’u Wada, who described the approval as a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth.
The approval was formally communicated through a letter signed by the Director of the Polytechnic Programmes Department at NBTE, Fatima Umar. According to the board, the new programmes reflect efforts to meet national priorities and global academic trends.
While granting the accreditation, NBTE highlighted areas the institution must improve to fully regularise the programmes. These include operational funding, infrastructure, and the provision of necessary equipment—all of which are already being addressed by the school, Wada stated.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Sani Usman, hailed the development as further validation of the institution’s ability to deliver quality technical and vocational education. He emphasized that the new programmes are aligned with the Polytechnic’s goal of staying ahead in technological advancement, economic development, and media innovation.
