Bauchi Governor Mourns Death of Shira LGA Acting Chairman
The Acting Chairman of Shira Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Wali Adamu, has died following a brief illness. He passed away on Sunday at the Federal Medical Centre in Azare, just two months after assuming leadership of the council. His death was confirmed in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed.
“Governor Bala Mohammed, on behalf of the government and the entire people of Bauchi State, extends his deepest condolences to the immediate family of late Wali Adamu, Katagum Emirate Council, and the people of Bauchi State over this great loss,” Gidado said in the statement.
The governor described the late chairman as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the development of Shira Local Government and the state would be fondly remembered.
The funeral prayer for Wali Adamu is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the residence of the late Alkali Musa in Azare by 10:30 a.m.
Gidado prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus and to give his family the strength to bear the loss.
Wali Adamu assumed office in March 2025 after leading a council-backed move to impeach the former chairman, Abdullahi Beli, and his deputy, Usman Adamu.
